Riding Sunday, Sept. 23

So yep, we're gonna ride again. Yet again. Are we in it for the riding or the people . . . or do we like both? Well, what better thing can we do to start off this new year, this new season?

So let's gather at the Brewery, same time, and try some roads we've ridden a lot, a few that some of us haven't ridden in years, and then add new embellishments. Since the weather looks good for a change, maybe we can dispense with the fenders and head up toward Snoqualmie Falls and have a look around at what Fall is bringing us.

If you haven't ridden with us recently, we've been doing stay-together riding with hilltop regroups. It's been fun.

Figure 71 miles and 4000' if we do the whole thing. But there are several shortcuts and detours that we can take to reduce climbing and distance. Here's our proposed route:

See you there!

Chris suggested that we include "mileage and possible turn-off localities for shorter segments and encourage people to communicate about who will show up for shorter segments," so that's what we'll do.

On this ride, you can eliminate the loop at Snoqualmie Falls and save 5 miles. You can cut off the whole out-and-back to Snoqualmie Falls and save 15 miles. You can eliminate the gratuitous climbing involved in going over Tolt Hill to 203, back over Ames Lake and then up Union Hill. Just go through Carnation and up Union Hill. I don't think that cuts off any mileage, but it sure cuts down on the climbing by eliminating two major climbs. So this can be easily shortened to about 55 miles and around 2000' of climbing, and still follow the same basic route.

If you'd like to do a shorter or slower ride, please send a message and show up. We'll see that you don't ride alone! I for one, enjoy riding moderate and haven't been riding much anyway. I'm just looking forward to getting out.

Thanks,
David
